    About KA

Kappa Alpha Order is military in organization, religious in feeling, and pledged to chivalrous ideals.

These ideals add grace to life and inculate valor, loyalty, truthfulness, reverence for womankind, courtesy, modesty of bearing, self-denial, and considerate and thoughtful regard for the feelings of others.

The philosophy of Kappa Alpha Order is that the acquisition of knowledge and the development of ch

aracter are the great goals of life.

Kappa Alpha is not just another college fraternity; it is a way of life, a philosiphy of living.  It's influence and it's ideals can neither be weighed nor measured, nor always felt, but there is nothing more substantial to its members than the bonds of fraternity they have shared.

    About Beta Tau

Beta Tau Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order was founded on December 3, 1927, and since that time has been a benchmark of fraternity operations on the campus of Mississippi State University.  The chapter's history is a rich one, finding its roots in an earlier campus organization dating back to 1885, when the University was only seven years old.

    Beta Tau Mission Statement:
Beta Tau Chapter, an active chapter of Kappa Alpha Order, is founded on the principles of the chivalric code, excellence on campus, goal-evaluation process, unity, brotherhood, gentility, and Christianity as exemplified by our spiritual founder, Robert E. Lee. Lee stood for surviving crisis, gentility, honesty, spirituality, respect for others, the Christian faith, paying debts, and the recruitment of new men. Lee also represented the meaning of family, education, the pledge education process, serving as role models for our members, the ritual, attending Church, and living through the good and bad times, values also supported by Beta Tau Chapter. In times of prosperity, we look to our togetherness, brotherhood, character, respect for women, diversity, overall respect, campus involvement, a common bond, our traditions, and our unity. In times of adversity, we turn to our officers, our advisors, each other, God, the NUC, alumni, our brotherhood, our Province Commander, our National Office, and our ritual. We celebrate our brotherhood by Old South, social, spending time with each other, attending athletic events, retreats, and intramurals.
