Kappa Alpha Order is military in organization, religious in feeling, and pledged to chivalrous ideals.

These ideals add grace to life and inculate valor, loyalty, truthfulness, reverence for womankind, courtesy, modesty of bearing, self-denial, and considerate and thoughtful regard for the feelings of others.

The philosophy of Kappa Alpha Order is that the acquisition of knowledge and the development of character are the great goals of life.

Kappa Alpha is not just another college fraternity; it is a way of life, a philosiphy of living.  It's influence and it's ideals can neither be weighed nor measured, nor always felt, but there is nothing more substantial to its members than the bonds of fraternity they have shared.

Beta Tau Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order was founded on December 3, 1927, and since that time has been a benchmark of fraternity operations on the campus of Mississippi State University.  The chapter's history is a rich one, finding its roots in an earlier campus organization dating back to 1885, when the University was only seven years old.
